Eastern Power Corporation

 

Eastern Power Corporation Ltd. (the “Company”) was established in 1999 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SCIG International Limited, part of Sichuan Energy Development Group. The Company invested in, constructed, owns, and operates the Khadori Hydro Power Plant (Khadori HPP)—the first hydropower project in Georgia developed through direct Chinese investment after the country’s independence, marking the beginning of China–Georgia cooperation in the energy sector.

Since its establishment, the Company has fulfilled its social responsibilities by creating long-term jobs for local residents, providing a stable fiscal revenue source for Akhmeta Municipality, and training a cohort of power professionals who now play an active role in Georgia’s energy industry.

The Company is a full pledged member of Georgia’s energy community and currently serves as the President Company of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Georgia (cccg.ge).
