Mata Gordedziani

Project Manager

Mata Goderdziani is a Project Manager for GREDA. Before moving to GREDA, she worked at "Georgian Industrial Group" affiliated company, "Georgian International Energy Corporation", for two years.

​In 2019 Mata joined "Georgian International Energy Corporation" as an intern, and after six months, she became a specialist in the hydro energy department. Her responsibilities included operating eight small hydro plants and implementing new projects. ​

Since March 2021, Mata has been the project coordinator at GREDA. 

​In 2020 she obtained a master's degree in Hydropower and Telecommunications. She also has a bachelor's degree in hydropower and Telecommunications at Georgian Technical University.

Maia Melikidze

Executive Director

Maia Melikidze joined GREDA as the Executive Director from August 2023.

 

Maia Melikidze also heads the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) and in 2023 was elected the Vice-Chairman of the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER).

 

In 2017-2023, Ms. Maia held the position of a member of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) of Georgia. Before that, she worked as an advisor to the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili in economic matters. Maia Melikidze also has 13 years of experience working in the private sector. At different times, she worked for the international auditing company Ernst & Young, JSC "Bank of Georgia" and JSC "Liberty Bank".

 

Maia Melikidze is an associate professor at the University of Business and Technology, holds a master's degree in global strategic management from Harvard University. In 2021, Maya was awarded a Doctor of Business Administration degree, with a dissertation topic on the use of renewable energies, specifically solar energy, in business. She is the author of many publications. Publication topics include such issues as renewable energy generation, utilization; The use of solar energy in the reality of Georgia and others.

Irina Kometiani

 

Public Relations  Manager

Irina Kometiani joined the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association from February 2023.

 

She has 10 years of experience in the field of energy, Irina worked in the Public Relations Department of the Georgian State Electrosystem, and before that she held the position of project management manager in "Mtkvari Energy" and "Caucasus Electric Market", she also has experience working in educational projects and in the private sector, in the direction of communication.

 

Irina holds a master's degree in public relations from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).

Davit Gorgadze

 

Assistant to the Executive Director

 

Davit Gorgadze joined the Georgian Renewable Energy Develop,emt Association from January 2023.

 

From June 2021 to October 2022, he worked at JSC "Sakcable" first as an Assistant to the Head of the Laboratory, then as a Laboratory Specialist.

 

Davit is studying at the "Georgian Technical University", at the Faculty of Energy, currently in the fourth year of his bachelor's degree.

Garik Teimuraziani

 

Research and Development Manager

 

Garik Teimurazian joined the Renewable Energy Development Association of Georgia in August 2023.

He began his education in 2017 at the University of Business and Technology, where he enrolled in a bachelor's program in finance. In 2021, he continued his studies at the same university on the MBA program, which he successfully completed.

Garik has 4 years of work experience in renewable energies, research, analytics and strategic management. His portfolio includes work in public, private and international organizations such as SEMEC, ERRA and EUMMAS.

Currently, in parallel with his work at GREDA, he is the Deputy Director of the Renewable Energy Laboratory of Business and Technology (ResLab), researcher and assistant lecturer.

Garik has published a number of articles in international refereed journals in the field of renewable energies and energy security.

Levan Kokaia

Lawyer

Levan serves as a lawyer at Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA) from November 2023.

His practice areas cover: new legislative initiatives and policymaking in Georgian renewable energy and related regulatory fields and also ensuring the full legal service on behalf of the association. Levan has 15 years of practical experience in public, nonprofit and private sectors.

 

In parallel, Levan provides legal service for a subsidiary company of the Czech hydro electro energy holding LLC “GEEN Georgia” and for the Georgian electric installation, construction and design company LLC “Saluda”. From 2013 up to present he gives lectures and conducts trainings at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). Levan is an author of more than 50 scientific and analytical publications that are issued by the prominent professional scientific journals and media sources.

 

Levan graduated from Ilia State University and got academic degree in Master of Law (LLM). Also, he holds academic degree in Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). 

Eka Kikadze

Lawyer

Eka Kikadze joined "Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association" as a lawyer in 2019.

 

Since then, she has worked at "Austrian Georgian Development", a construction development company that has planned two 16 M.W. capacity hydroelectric stations: Lakhami 1 and Lakhami 2. 

 

From 2011 to 2019, Eka worked at "Dariali Energy". Her duties included leading and supervising legal operations. She led the environmental protection and social departments at the same organisation from 2013 to 2019. In this period "Dariali Energy" earned a silver reward for ecological conservation and social practices from "European Bank for Reconstruction and Development" (EBRD Sustainability Award 2017).  

From 2017 to 2019, Eka provided legal counselling for "Oni cascade".

Eka Kikadze has ten years of experience practising law in hydropower projects.

In 2008 she obtained a jurisprudence diploma at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and, in 2011, a master's degree in civil law at Caucasus University. Additionally, Eka successfully graduated from Harvard's certified online course: Contact Law.

 

Meanwhile, she has been a member of the Georgian Bar Association since 2013.

Khatia Bregvadze

Administration Manager

Khatia Bregvadze has been a "Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association" administration manager since 2019.

 

Khatia also works as an administration manager at L.L.C. "Austrian Georgian Development". 

 

From 2017 to 2019, Khatia was a topographer at L.L.C. "Energo Aragvi Engineering" and Khada HPP" Her primary responsibilities were topographic furrowing, researching, and working on plans.

 

Khatia was granted a bachelor's degree in oriental studies at Ivane Javakhishvili State University Tbilisi.

Salome Mefarishvili

Environmental Specialist

Salome Mefarishvili is an Environmental Specialist at the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association.
 
She has 8 years of work experience in Environmental Protection. 
Since 2014, she has been working at LSI "Al. Janelidze Institute of Geology". At the same time, she participated in international geological conferences and scientific researches.

 

In 2017, the journal of the Georgian National Academy Of Science published The article ''Flysch character of the upper Jurassic-Cretaceous formation of the caucasus marginal sea eastern basin and some issues of its origin'', which was created with her assistance.

She has the experience of working in the position of Environmental Specialist in "Gamma Consulting". Salome also worked on the preparation of environmental documents for hydroelectric plants and various enterprises. In addition, she has the experience of working as an Environmental Manager of enterprises. 

Salome holds a master's degree in geology from the Technical University of Georgia.
