Mata Gordedziani
Project Manager
Mata Goderdziani is a Project Manager for GREDA. Before moving to GREDA, she worked at "Georgian Industrial Group" affiliated company, "Georgian International Energy Corporation", for two years.
In 2019 Mata joined "Georgian International Energy Corporation" as an intern, and after six months, she became a specialist in the hydro energy department. Her responsibilities included operating eight small hydro plants and implementing new projects.
Since March 2021, Mata has been the project coordinator at GREDA.
In 2020 she obtained a master's degree in Hydropower and Telecommunications. She also has a bachelor's degree in hydropower and Telecommunications at Georgian Technical University.
Maia Melikidze
Executive Director
Maia Melikidze has served as the Executive Director of the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA) since August 2023, guiding the organization through a period of expanding national and regional engagement in clean-energy transformation.
From 2020 to 2024, she chaired the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA), following her earlier tenure as a member of its Presidium (2018–2020). In 2023, she was elected Vice-Chairman of the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER), a position she held until February 2025, contributing to global regulatory dialogue at a pivotal moment for the energy sector.
Between 2017 and 2023, Ms. Melikidze served as a Commissioner of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC). Prior to her regulatory roles, she was an economic adviser to the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili. Her earlier career spans thirteen years in the private sector, including key positions at Ernst & Young, Bank of Georgia, and Liberty Bank, where she cultivated expertise in finance, auditing, and strategic analysis. Ms. Melikidze is also active in academia as an associate professor at the University of Business and Technology.
She holds a master’s degree in global strategic management from Harvard University and earned her Doctor of Business Administration degree in 2021 with a dissertation centered on the adoption of renewable—particularly solar—energy in business models. A prolific author, she has published extensively on renewable energy generation, utilization pathways, and the potential of solar technologies in the Georgian context.

Irina Kometiani
Head Strategic Development and Communi
Irina Kometiani joined the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association from February 2023.
She has 10 years of experience in the field of energy, Irina worked in the Public Relations Department of the Georgian State Electrosystem, and before that she held the position of project management manager in "Mtkvari Energy" and "Caucasus Electric Market", she also has experience working in educational projects and in the private sector, in the direction of communication.
Irina holds a master's degree in public relations from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).


Davit Gorgadze
Assistant to the Executive Director
Davit Gorgadze joined the Georgian Renewable Energy Develop,emt Association from January 2023.
From June 2021 to October 2022, he worked at JSC "Sakcable" first as an Assistant to the Head of the Laboratory, then as a Laboratory Specialist.
Davit studies at the Georgian Technical University, Faculty of Energy, and is currently in the first year of his master’s program
Garik Teimuraziani
Research and Development Manager
Garik Teymurazyan has joined the Georgian Renewable Energy Development association in August, 2023.
He started his education in 2017 at the Business and Technology University (BTU), where he enrolled in the BBA program majoring in Finance. In 2021, he continued his studies at the same university in the MBA program, which he successfully completed.
Garik has 6 years of experience in renewable energy, research, analytics and strategic management. His portfolio includes work in/with government, private and international organizations such as GNERC, ERRA, EUMMAS and others.
Currently, in parallel with his work at GREDA, he is engaged in pedagogical activities throughout Georgia.
Garik has published a numerous of articles in internationally refereed journals in the field of renewable energies and energy security.


Levan Kokaia
Lawyer
Levan Kokaia has served as a Lawyer at the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA) since November 2023.
He specializes in the development of legislative initiatives and policy frameworks in the renewable energy sector and related fields and he provides comprehensive legal support to the Association.
Levan brings over 18 years of professional experience across the private, non-profit and public sectors.
Alongside his work with GREDA, Levan advises and provides full-scope legal services to multiple companies operating across all major segments of the renewable energy industry, including electrical installation, construction and engineering firms such as “Saluda”.
Since 2013, he has been a lecturer and trainer at the “Georgian Institute of Public Affairs” (GIPA).
Levan is the author of more than 60 scientific and analytical publications featured in leading professional journals and media platforms.
His core areas of specialization include renewable energy law (both domestic and international), the legal regulation of electricity trading, artificial intelligence and energy-project financing, business law and corporate governance.
Levan holds an LL.M. in Law from “Ilia State University” and an MPA in Public Administration from the “Georgian Institute of Public Affairs”.
Khatia Bregvadze
Administration Manager
Khatia Bregvadze has been a "Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association" administration manager since 2019.
Khatia also works as an administration manager at L.L.C. "Austrian Georgian Development".
From 2017 to 2019, Khatia was a topographer at L.L.C. "Energo Aragvi Engineering" and Khada HPP" Her primary responsibilities were topographic furrowing, researching, and working on plans.
Khatia was granted a bachelor's degree in oriental studies at Ivane Javakhishvili State University Tbilisi.
