Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA) and Georgian Technical University (GTU) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
Under the Memorandum of Cooperation, GREDA and GTU will work towards the development of vocational training programs in the field of renewable energy. Another objective of the MoC is to increase the involvement of women in the sector. The parties will also contribute to raising public awareness about renewable energy through various activities.
The promotion of vocational education in the field of energy is one of GREDA's priorities. GREDA has already taken a number of effective steps in this regard. The association:
developed a Solar PV Installation Vocational Training course in cooperation with the Chiatura multifunctional center;
contributed to creating an initiative group that will further develop into the Sectoral Skills Organization (SSO) in the energy sector, together with the Skills Agency Georgia;
is also working on the development and implementation of several vocational training courses.
"We are happy that the Georgian Technical University, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, has become one of our reliable partners on this challenging path," - noted Giorgi Abramishvili, GREDA Supervisory Board Chairman.
